The Foster Farms Bowl is an NCAA-licensed, Post-Season College Football Bowl game playing its fourth game at Levi’s® Stadium, featuring the 3rd selection from the Pac-12 conference (outside of the college football playoff group) versus a top team from the Big Ten conference. It will be the only post season Bowl game televised by FOX Sports in 2016. The Bowl originated in 2002 and played the first 12 games at AT&T Park. The game was previously known as the Diamond Walnut San Francisco Bowl (2002-2003), Emerald Bowl (2004-2009), Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl (2010-2012) and the Fight Hunger Bowl (2013). The game is entering its 15th year and is now owned and operated by the San Francisco 49ers.
Some of the most prominent college football programs in the country have participated in the game including: Cal, Nebraska, Florida State, UCLA, Stanford, Miami, BYU, UW, Boston College, Virginia Tech, Arizona St. and Navy among others.
The Bowl’s mission is to produce an unsurpassed, first-class, post-season college football event that will provide a memorable experience for the participating schools and fans, promote positive economic impact for the San Francisco Bay Area, and help bring awareness to Bay Area non-profit organizations. Participating universities and fans enjoy a Bowl week “experience” that includes staying in premier, downtown San Francisco hotel properties, visiting Alcatraz, and serving food to the those in need at GLIDE and St. Anthony’s.
Title sponsor Foster Farms returns for their third consecutive year of affiliation with the event and will play a lead role in the event’s community engagement platform
